Eclipse Concert

My FAVORITE acapella group ever- Eclipse came to the Sandy Ampitheater. I had free tickets to their concert on Friday night. It was so much fun, and I absolutely loved every minute of it! I brought my mom and my little broski along for company. We walked over from our house-totally convenient P.S. However, when we arrived, we were all but hurried into a huddled mass of people in the restroom corridor. It had started to rain :( Luckily for us, they didn't cancel the show- only delayed it. So we waited out the storm and then enjoyed the rest of a gorgeous evening.

Eric and I sitting on the floor waiting out the storm- you can't tell we are bored can you?

Because we were so patient, we were rewarded with a rainbow!

And the wonderful group themselves, Eclipse! I could listen to them all night long!

Well that is all for now- peace out until next time!

Bear Lake

So for any of you who were waiting to hear about the rest of my New York Trip- I am going to let you down. I have way too many pictures and stories to do it justice on a blog. So I will have to tell you in person, when you can actually see my 450 pictures!

However, I will tell you about my time at Beautiful Bear Lake. About a day or so after I got back from New York, my family went to Bear Lake for our vacation. We stayed at the KOA- I loved every minute of it. We haven't ever stayed at a nicer RV/Cabin resort. (And when I say resort- I don't mean a Cancun Beachside Resort, I mean fantastic for an RV Park) All of our family including aunts, uncles, (even the infamous Dean!), grandpa and siblings came. We had a blast. Here are a few pics from the experience.

This little lady is one we all call "FLOYD," my cousin. Her make shift hat is actually a beach frisbee-what can I say, she is a little inventor!

Me and the brothas! Eric and I posing with our shades getting ready to head to the lake. Riding out on the jet ski was a brother sandwich. I am in the middle- you can't see me, but Eric is driving and Nate is already holding on for dear life! ha ha

Jan, happy as a clam, freezing in 80 degree whether? Must be a Bickmore...

Cousins on THE coolest floating Trike I have EVER seen- loved it.

And this my friends is what you call "BLACKMAIL," or what happens when you take pictures of yourself with my camera. Apparently she just wanted to capture the moment all inclusive with her frisbee hat and old school life jacket sitting in a lawn chair on the beach.
The three stooges decided to try out the paddle boats. FYI they are a lot more work than they are worth- but it was great exercise! We went about 2 feet in 5 minutes... then around in circles.

And here is double trouble. The two in the family who naturally got the height, curls and dark hair.
And last but not least our resident "wild child," but who couldn't love this face?!

New York City

Welcome to NYC baby! For the past week I have been having the time of my life in New York with some of my best friends ever! Enjoy the ride...

Wednesday: My best friend Becky, her sister Anna and I took an early plane ride to JFK, NY and arrived at about 5 pm. When we arrived, Becky took the reins and lead us through the subways (all baggage in tow) to our destination. While venturing through one of the many subway stations, a traditional Native American was playing the flute. I of course stopped and observed-after all we don't see that everyday in Utah! The man playing the flute saw me looking at him and waved me toward him. I of course tried to walk the other way in avoidance, but Becky convinced me to at least take a photo with him. Here I am with the happy flute player!

We stayed in New York's Queens borough with one of Becky's close friends Melissa. Melissa and her boyfriend were THE cutest and sweetest hosts ever. Upon our arrival Melissa took us to eat at a traditional Argentinian restaurant. Despite my nervous entry, I exited the eatery with pleasure. We ate a mixture of rice, beans, a variety of meat, eggs and of course fried bananas! I took a couple of pictures of the streets on our walk to the restaurant.

After we finished dinner, we met up with some other friends, Pedro and Myra, in Union Square. We went to the Virgin records store- which we LOVED, because they were closing. Now you might be curious as to why we loved it? Yes, because of the SALE! Everything in the store was 70% off! We made out like bandits with about 12 cds for about $4-5 each.

To finish up the night, we all went to a little tea cafe to try some new treats! It was a little gem called "Saint's Alp Teahouse." Becky and Myra were brave and got drinks with tapioca bubbles in them. What are tapioca bubbles? (Who knows, but they don't sound too appetizing)EXACTLY what I thought-so I went with a berry smoothie. The tapioca bubbles seemed to be the size of a marble and were squishy just like a fruit snack- only they didn't dissolve!? Oh, and did I mention you sucked them up the LARGEST straw I have ever seen? Needless to say we had more than enough laughs and giggles enjoying our drinks.

After we finished at the cafe, we walked around Union Square and Pedro gave us the Grand tour. There were lots of NYU students at the square playing volleyball, instruments, and drawing. It was a really fun atmosphere.

Needless to say- I have only summarized 5 or 6 hours of our stay in New York and it is taking me forever. So never fear- I have lots more coming including: Manhattan temple trip, Broadway, Time Square, 9/11 Memorial, Tiffany's, Canal Street, Statue of Liberty... But I am off for now-check back for updates!

Blogging?

I decided to start a blog-with the help of my little brother. I have never started a blog, because I don't have much time to tinker (as many of you know). As a result, if you never see updates- you know why ;) So here it goes!
